Dr. Terra Gargano

With over 25 years of experience in higher education and over a decade of involvement with college applications and admissions, I have the knowledge and expertise to guide you through the college essay process. I have spent decades working with students to improve their writing and appreciate the authentic selves they bring to the process of telling their story.  As a member of several admission committees I know what institutions are looking for and the storytelling strategies valued by colleges and universities. As a program director, I have evaluated and made admission decisions on thousands of college applications. I have taught courses on storytelling and intercultural communication in graduate and undergraduate programs at private, state, and community colleges. I graduated with a PhD from the College of Education at the University of Maryland and an MA in International Education from American University.
